In the Shadow of the Photographer

My Uncle Bill was the family photographer. He always made us stand facing the sun, and many of his snapshots feature his shadow in the foreground. I like it. Here’s one of my favourites.

I’m almost 8 years old here, standing on the porch in July. He asked me to stand back so my face wouldn’t scrunch up from the hot summer sun.
